Forms, offices and teachers often ask for a PDF, but your documents are photos on your phone: a marksheet, an ID card, a receipt, homework pages. Here is how to turn images into one clean PDF for free.
Convert images to PDF in three steps
- Open the free Image to PDF tool and select one image or several. Each image becomes one page, in the order you add them.
- Choose the page settings: - Page size: A4, Letter, Legal, or Fit image to make each page the size of its photo. - Orientation: Auto, Portrait or Landscape. Auto turns each page to match its image. - Margin: none, small or big. A small margin looks more like a scanned document.
- Download your PDF.
Which page size to pick
- A4: the usual choice in India, Europe and most of the world for forms and documents.
- Letter or Legal: when an office in the US or Canada asks for those sizes.
- Fit image: for photo albums or designs, so nothing is shrunk onto a white page.
Tips for documents photographed on a phone
- Shoot from straight above in daylight, with the page filling the frame.
- Crop the image to the page edges before converting.
- If the text looks soft, run it through Sharpen Image first.
- iPhone photos in HEIC format can be turned into a PDF directly with the HEIC converter, which also exports PDF.
If the PDF is too big
Many upload portals limit PDF size. The quickest fix is to make the images smaller before you convert: resize or compress them, then build the PDF again.
