Fix Warm or Cold Photos: Change Color Temperature Online Free

Indoor bulbs make photos too orange. Shade and cloudy days make them too blue. Some tube lights add a green tint. Your eyes adjust to all of this, but the camera does not always. Changing the colour temperature fixes it. Here is how to do it online free, with no app and no account.

Fix the colour in three steps

  1. Open the free Color Temperature tool and upload your photo.
  2. Move the Temperature slider the opposite way to the problem, then use Tint if it still looks green or pink.
  3. Download the corrected photo.

What each slider does

  • Temperature (Cool / Warm), -100 to 100. Left cools the photo, right warms it. Too orange? Move left. Too blue? Move right.
  • Tint (Green / Magenta), -100 to 100. Fixes a green or pink cast that temperature cannot.
  • Smart Vibrance, -100 to 100. Lifts dull colours while protecting skin tones. Safer than saturation on portraits.
  • Overall Saturation, 0 to 2.5. Raises or lowers every colour equally.
  • Hue Spectrum Shift, -180 to 180. Rotates all colours. A creative effect, not a fix.

Quick fixes by situation

Problem Try
Indoor photo under yellow bulbs looks orange Temperature left, or the Tungsten Warm fix preset
Shade or a cloudy day looks blue and cold Temperature right
Office or tube light looks green Fluorescent Fix preset, or Tint toward magenta
Colours look dull but correct Smart Vibrance up a little

Presets for a creative look

The White Balance Preset menu also has looks you can start from: Golden Hour, Cool Daylight, Sunset Glow, Vivid Pop and Cyber Neon. Pick one, then fine-tune the sliders.

Tips for natural skin

  • Look at the whites. A white shirt, wall or plate should look white, not cream or blue.
  • Small moves go a long way. Most fixes need less than 30 either way.
  • Use vibrance, not saturation, to add colour to faces.
  • For a warm sunlit glow with light rays, try the free golden hour filter instead.
