A reflection doubles a photo's best part. Under a skyline it looks like a calm lake. Under a watch or a pair of shoes it looks like a showroom shelf. Here is how to add a water reflection effect online free, with no app and no account.
Add a reflection in three steps
- Open the free Water Reflection tool and upload your photo.
- Choose Water Ripples or Glass Mirror and set the height and fade.
- Pick a background and format, then download.
The bottom of your photo is what gets mirrored, so a photo cut off just below the subject works best.
Water Ripples for landscapes
Use it on skylines, mountains, temples, sunsets and anything you would expect beside a lake.
- Wave Ripple Intensity: low for calm water, higher for a choppy surface.
- Ripple Frequency: higher looks like a breezy surface with small waves.
- Water Surface Tint: none for natural water, or Ocean Blue, Alpine Teal, Emerald Lake, Sunset Gold or Midnight Navy.
Glass Mirror for products
Use it for jewellery, watches, bottles, shoes, gadgets or anything you sell online. A plain, clean reflection makes a simple product photo look like a studio shot.
- Background Color: white, black, dark navy, light grey, or transparent (PNG only).
- Waterline Contact Shadow: a soft shadow where the product meets the surface, so it does not look like it is floating.
Settings for both
- Reflection Height (20 to 100): how tall the reflection is compared with the photo.
- Fade Out (Depth Falloff) (0 to 100): how quickly the reflection fades. Higher looks more natural.
- Output Format: PNG, JPEG or WebP.
Tips
- For products, start with a cutout. Remove the background first with the free background remover, then add the Glass Mirror on white.
- For landscapes, crop at the horizon. If the bottom of the photo is a road or a wall, crop it off with the free crop tool so the "water" starts where it should.
- Keep ripples gentle on night skylines so the lights stay readable.
- Large photos take a moment to process, so wait for the preview before downloading.
