A PDF is great for printing and terrible almost everywhere else. A form wants a JPG, a chat app shows a PDF as a file icon instead of a picture, and you cannot post a PDF page to a story. Converting the page to an image fixes all of that. Here is how to convert PDF to JPG free in your browser, with no app and no account.
Convert a PDF to JPG in four steps
- Open the free PDF to JPG converter and add your PDF, up to 25MB.
- Choose Single page and type the page number, or choose All pages (ZIP) to get every page as its own image in one download.
- Pick the resolution and the format: JPG, PNG or WebP.
- Set the quality for JPG or WebP (92% is the default), then download.
There is also a Color mode setting. Grayscale makes a black and white image, which suits scanned text and printed forms.
Which DPI to pick
DPI decides how many pixels each page gets. More pixels means sharper text and a bigger file.

150 DPI is the default and the right answer for most people. Go to 300 only when the text has to stay crisp when someone zooms in, such as a certificate or a receipt.
JPG, PNG or WebP?
- JPG works everywhere and keeps the file small. Pick it for forms and sharing.
- PNG keeps sharp edges on text and line drawings with no blur, at a larger file size.
- WebP is smaller again, but some older forms and programs will not take it.
How to convert a PDF to JPG under 100KB or 200KB
Many application forms cap the file size. Start at 150 DPI and JPG at around 80% quality. If the file is still too big, run the JPG through the free image compressor, or resize it to the pixel size the form asks for. Check the result with the image size checker before you upload.
