About the Schengen Visa Photo (35 x 45 mm)
Schengen visa photos are 35 mm wide and 45 mm high, with the face filling 70 to 80% of the height (32 to 36 mm), on a plain light background, ideally neutral grey. These numbers come from Germany's rules; each consulate can be stricter, so check the one you apply to.
Start from a recent photo taken straight on, in even daylight, with your whole face and the top of your hair in the picture, a neutral expression, eyes open and no glasses glare. The tool finds your face, replaces the background and scales your head to the rule; it never edits your face, since an official photo must show you as you are.
